A Completely Free Audio Service of Local News for the Sight Impaired and Disabled
We are always looking for volunteers to join our friendly and committed team.
Key attributes we look for are:
We need help with both our recordings, or sourcing news from local papers by Cuttings Editors or Researchers, and for the more technically minded help with Production and Sound Editing.
Producers are generally involved in the early part of the week developing a Running Order on a spreadsheet template.
Cuttings Editors source articles from online newspapers and forwarding them to readers.
Readers are normally required to record from home once a month on a Wednesday, as one of a team of 5 per week. They then send their recordings to the Sound Editors by We Transfer.
Sound Editors pull all the articles together on Thursdays, edit them and then upload onto the internet
A Distribution Team load the recordings onto USB memory sticks which are sent by post to those listeners unable to access the online facility.
